POINT:

It is easy for people to justify and rationalize that they are better and therefore deserving of being “saved” when they compare themselves to others. Jesus clearly reminds us that salvation is personal business. Each of us has to “repent” on our own if we want to avoid “perishing” in this world and the next. Repentance is recognizing that I am trying to control my own life and rebelling against God. A true “repentant” person allows God to be in control and will have fruit to show.

ACTION:

I choose to “repent” of my rebellious nature. I understand that this will be a daily process as Paul talked about when he said that he had to “die daily.”
