Our purpose
is to encourage all to make a decided effort to lift the cross of Jesus in their daily lives.  It is our goal to provide ideas and resources to help you “lift the cross” as an individual and as you gather with like-minded followers in groups.  Together we make a movement.  As we “lift” Jesus Christ and His cross work the world will be changed.

Christian parents have a unique call to lead their children to the Lord. They are promised that if they raise their children in the “way” they should go that when they grow older they will remain faithful to that way.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Jesus clearly told us that He was the “Way.”

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6

Moses suggested that parents print the rules of God on the doorposts of the home. That helps children remember who is in charge of their homes and their lives.

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Jesus told us He was the “Door” to the sheepfold. He is the only way to get in and out.

“Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:7-10

The bottom line for parents is to find ways to lift Jesus Christ up in their homes and in the lives of their children.

THE CALL

The call is still going forth for parents to do what they can to train their children to follow Jesus.

They are drawn to the cross and are to draw their children to the cross.

They are always looking for ways to lead their children to the cross.

THE CHALLENGE

Liftingthecross.com is designed to help parents find resources and ideas on how to lift the cross of Christ up to their children in their daily lives.

There will be opportunities for parents to share their ideas and to encourage each other.
