No More Mr. Nice Guy
I have been really thinking about the life of Christ recently and how he lived it and what that means to me as a man of God. Taking that deep look I have noticed that Jesus was not just a passive nice guy but he was assertive and spoke how he felt about others and how they were living their lives. Does this mean that I have the right to tell everyone how to live their life. NO. It means to me that I have to stand up for the same things that Christ did not worrying about if I hurt their feelings or if I offend anyone but this should all be done in love and with the best intentions. I want to be more like Jesus; a man of God. I want to stand against injustice. I want to be a man of righteousness. I want to be bold with my faith. I want to be a man that when people look at me they can say there goes a man like Christ making a difference in this world.

Bold and Loving
Tracy,
I think that Jesus was both. But I cringe at your post. It is not I disagree with what you are saying- I don't But I fear what people may be hearing.
You can be both gentle and bold. However sometimes Christans can get careless, because they feel they have their rights. So under the banner of Christiainty they deface God.
Recently a woman, using God as her back-up wrote me a nasty letter. She accused me of many things which simply were not correct. I was furious. But, knowing the power of my own temper: I waited ot cool down.
Eventually I wrote her a letter which was kind, firm and honest. I also apologized for any thing I may have done to bring out such a nasty letter.
In the end she apologized and took responsibiilty for her comments. Now we are able to establish freindship.
I think when we stand up for the truth, it must be over lots of prayer. Too often Christian's can feel they are entitiled to say whatevar the want. They quote some bible verse as a power weapon but pull it out of context. Or they skip the many verses condemning them.
I think when we stand up for the trutj, it must be over lots of prayer. Too often Christian's are careless. Jesus balanced truth with humility.
We need to ask. Will this build up or tear down this person? What is my goal in what I am doing and saying. Jesus always worked to restor others. And never needlessly hurt anyone
